Jennifer Fan is Head of Asia at Freemont Capital, an asset management company with group operations in Europe. At Freemont, Jennifer’s responsibilities include leading the firm’s executive management and investment activities across public markets, private equity and hedge fund programs in Asia.
Jennifer has two decades of investment, fund management, M&A, corporate & investment finance experience. She was previously Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer of Private Equity at Heritas Capital, a regional investment fund management company, driving its business expansion and co-managing the business and its regional offices. Prior to that, she was Managing Director and Portfolio Manager in a global hedge fund, where she was responsible for investing across strategies and asset classes in Asia. Jennifer also spent nine years in aggregate with Temasek Holdings and its wholly owned subsidiary, Fullerton Financial Holdings focusing on strategic investments in the financial services and fintech sectors.
Jennifer started her finance career with Merrill Lynch’s Financials Institution Group and corporate finance unit in Singapore and Hong Kong. She is also a trained corporate lawyer, having practiced in Singapore and Paris focusing on cross border M&As. It was her early exposure to regional investments as a lawyer that cemented her interest in investing.
An MBA graduate from Harvard Business School, Jennifer also holds a Bachelor of Laws from the National University of Singapore, where she was awarded Dean's List Honours. She can conduct business in Mandarin as well as speak French and basic Bahasa Indonesia.
An active volunteer leader at Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL) since 2013 and board member since 2017, Jennifer assumed the role of Vice-Chairman of CAL in 2019 and has also been actively contributing to CAL’s advocacy, fund raising and event management activities.
