I want to talk about the one particular type of stigma I faced because of my mental health condition. I have had struggles with word sensitivity and thought distortion, which have led to a very troublesome issue I had over the years – I’ve read too much into things and thought people liked me romantically when they didn’t.

I find keeping a journal useful. Start noting down situations that may have made you abnormally upset or confused. You may stick to two simple questions, “What made me upset?” and “Do I have the resources to overcome this situation?”
The dictionary definition of a job is a paid position for regular appointment. That said, it sounds pretty impersonal doesn’t it. We would probably expect to see ourselves working till the ripe old age of 62, the average retirement age in Singapore. That’s a long time to be working and we often do not have a choice to not do so.

First it was the constant fatigue. Then came the sense of dread when the alarm went off and I needed to get myself to work. The countless sleepless nights worrying about deadlines. Intrusive thoughts of “How am I going to get through this week with so much on my plate?”
