I Look At Challenges As A Way For Me To Build Resilience And See The Silver Lining In Every Situation.

Tim Oei

A lawyer by training and profession with more than 10 years in the social service, community and healthcare sectors, Tim Oei took the helm of NKF in August 2017.

With a strong passion to support the underprivileged, Tim has devoted himself to making a difference through care transformation in the renal landscape. He advocates for holistic care of kidney patients by connecting NKF care services with other community care services to achieve a seamless and integrated approach to deliver the best clinical outcome for kidney patients, with the objective to rehabilitate and reintegrate kidney patients back into the society to lead fulfilling and purposeful lives.

As cases of renal failure continue to rise at an alarming rate, Tim firmly believes in that education and preventive care should be used to engage, enable and empower communities to make positive changes in their lives, to forge a better tomorrow and ultimately a future free of kidney disease.

Inducted as a Social Service Fellow since 2019, Tim volunteers his time as Board Member and Programmes and Services Committee Member with Caregivers Alliance, as well as Board Member with Resilience Collective. Tim also serves on the Toteboard Overseas Scholarship Evaluation Panel, the Leadership Selection Panel for Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) and National Council of Social Service (NCSS), the Steering Committee of the Lim Choon Guan Endowment Fund as well as Consumer Panel for the Agency for Care Effectiveness under Ministry Of Health.

Tim holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Business Administration in Legal Practice from Nottingham Trent University.
